Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you train to be a massage therapist?

Having always been told by friends and family I should be a massage therapist, I finally enrolled on a massage course and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am naturally someone who likes to help people and this career gives me the opportunity to do hands on treatments that have great results.

Where did you train and what was the course like?

I trained at Tonic School of Massage in Henley on Thames. I really enjoyed the Holistic massage course that I enrolled in 3 years ago. Since then I decided to expand my knowledge and completed sports massage level 3 and 4. I also added Indian Head Massage to my certificates.

What is your favourite type of patient?

As the majority of my clients come for a sports massage, I feel it’s important to have feedback about the techniques, pressure, pain, and how the massage makes them feel, therefore a good trusting client-therapist relationship is essential. I like my clients to be responsive.

What will we find you doing outside of the clinic?

In my spare time I like to go to the gym, I do Pilates and walk every day. With two children, a husband, a dog and two cats, there is never a dull day!

What are your aims for the future?

I would like to further expand my knowledge by continuing to attend different seminars. I believe the key to being a good masseuse is in having extensive knowledge of the human anatomy and being able to visualise every muscle's origin and insertion when you are working on it.
