Erika is trained in both Sports and Holistic Massage, allowing her to support a wide range of clients with a skilled and intuitive approach. She is also qualified in Indian Head Massage and has recently added Personal Training and Exercise to Music to her skill set. A strong advocate for movement, Erika actively encourages her clients to incorporate strength training and stretching into their daily routine.
From a young age, I often struggled with knots and tension in my shoulders, and I was always asking my parents to “massage it out.” I quickly learned what felt good and what didn’t, and when friends and family encouraged me to give massages, they often said, “You should be a massage therapist.” Later in life, when the opportunity arose, I finally took the leap. Helping people comes naturally to me, and this career allows me to provide hands-on treatments that make a real difference to how people feel.
I trained at the Tonic School of Massage in Henley-on-Thames under Celine Samson and qualified as a Massage Training Institute practitioner. After completing the Level 4 Holistic Massage course, I went on to study Level 3 and Level 4 VTCT Sports Massage Therapy. The training was both highly practical and informative, giving me the confidence and motivation to deepen my understanding of how the body works and how we can keep our muscles strong, supple, and supportive as we age.
I enjoy working with clients who value connection and open communication. Sports Massage is a collaborative process, and ongoing feedback about technique, pressure, and comfort is essential to ensure the treatment is effective and supportive. At the same time, if a client simply needs to relax and switch off, that is equally important and always respected. Building a trusting therapist–client relationship allows each session to be tailored to the client’s needs, creating the best possible experience and results.
I have recently completed a Personal Training and Exercise to Music course with YMCA Fitness. Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me in the gym or my studio, training, developing new routines and exercises, or searching for the perfect workout music. I’m always on the move — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Massage and sports therapy is a broad and constantly evolving field, and I enjoy continuing to learn as it develops and expands. I am committed to ongoing professional development, exploring new approaches, introducing additional techniques, and continually adding to my repertoire. The mind–body connection is a particularly fascinating area, and I would like to further deepen my knowledge and practice in this direction.on it.
If you are looking for a more relaxing treatment to unwind and de-stress, I also offer a holistic massage approach. Using doTERRA essential oils, the treatment supports not only the muscles and joints but also emotional wellbeing. There are various blends supporting grounding, soothing tired muscles and joints, while others provide an uplifting and energising effect. Please make a note when booking online or inform a member of our reception team if you would like this option.
