Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you decide to train as a physiotherapist?

Having always enjoyed exercise, working with others and problem solving, becoming a physiotherapist seemed the perfect fit. I am now so fortunate to have a job I love and one that I am passionate about. Every day is different. Being able to help and support others overcome physical challenges whilst enabling them to live the life they wish to lead is such a privilege.

What is your favourite type of patient?

One of my favourite things about being a physiotherapist is the variety: treating patients of all ages and with all kinds of injuries and presenting conditions; however, I do have a particular interest in orthopaedics. Previously, I having worked extensively with patients in the hospital setting providing therapy immediately before and after elective and traumatic orthopaedic surgery. I now still enjoy applying my knowledge to support patients throughout their orthopaedic journey either pre-operatively, post-operatively or conservatively without surgical intervention.

What is your style of practice?

I am passionate about providing clients with an understanding of their presenting condition whilst guiding them back to the activities that mean the most to them. To ensure treatments are tailored to best suit each patient, I am thorough and holistic with my assessments and I apply a variety of treatment skills which include manual therapy, education, advise and exercise programmes.

What will we find you doing outside of the clinic?

Keeping an active lifestyle is hugely important to me therefore I am often found out running in the gorgeous countryside and walking in the hills. When relaxing, I love returning to my home town of Edinburgh to catch up with my family and friends.
